Many years ago I signed up with Nildram for broadband, email and some space for a website.
After a few years Nildram got taken over by Tiscali. The new owners didn't manage to break my internet and I didn't want to lose my email address or the web space so I stuck with them.
After a few years Tiscali got taken over by TalkTalk. The new owners didn't manage to break my internet and I didn't want to lose my email address or the web space so I stuck with them.
Until last month that is when TalkTalk turned off my web space.
Not sure which way to jump now. There were two things that had me hanging on to a ridiculously slow connection at an inflated price - an email address and a web space address that I have been using for 15 years. Now the web address has gone it is just the email address that I am clinging on to. I will be switching to a new provider as soon as I can.
Thinking of going with Zen this time.
I don't really want to bother with registering my own domain
but I think I will have to if I want to be able to switch provider and have some control over my email and web space.
