How do you get nicely cooked bacon in a slow cooker? half the enjoyment is in the more cancerous charred bits!

Yep I Fully agree. Fine in Pasta, stews etc. But NOT on toast or fried bread. Just plain wrong

Slow cooker has to be one of the best kitchen gadgets ever.Not sure about doing a "full English" in one though ,after all you want fried bread,bacon,sausages and black pudding at the very least.

Have to say, we got a cheapo halogen oven / air fryer a few months ago. Brilliant ! Use it for all sorts, quicker and cheaper to run than conventional electric oven  but not just for stuff that you use an oven for. You could almost get away with nothing else.
