Not actually that bad, most of the sides is air intake, everything else sits in the V

The M120 lump is less problematic and a touch easier to work on, if only because it doesn't have the turbos...

I remember my Father buying one new in 1969,fast car back then

It was £115 grand new, has a V12 engine and over 500bhp. If it went wrong after a while and you had to sell it at a loss, you wold still have the memories for ever.

The old CLK that I'm driving now cost 47k new back in 2002,worth bugger all now but still a lovely car

Mine stands me £4500 has cost nothing in repairs over 3 years , had two new rear tyres & 3 oil changes so owes me nowt as far as I am concerned, and is a complete joy to drive, purchase price in January 2000 was just over £55,000, so let someone else take the big hit is my advice.
