have any members driven their migs on an entensive road trip?i,m planning a trip to russia next spring and wondered if it would be wise to take the car.its a 4000 mile round trip and would like to do the journey in 5 days each way. :)

To the alps and back five-up a couple of years ago ~2000miles.

Ski rack whistled a bit a 140, other wise excellent.

Wales to Budapest; a truly memorable experience, `great-fun. :y

....recommend you have full 'Euro-assistance' insurance/recovery and take-along a spare accessory belt too. ;)

Done 2k couple of years ago touring west coast scotland and coming back down east/Dundee direction :y

Driven my one 16hours non stop (only 1 quick fill-up) at high motorway speed abroad and 4 days later 1k again back to UK- no problems. Did have some spare bits in the boot though!

1600km in 16h - two times in June - single driver. no spares, just europe wide assistance. tha car has 185000km on the clock. no problem - omega made for drives like that

Used to go to south of france every year.  My advice, take a spare crank sensor ::)

took my v6 vec to nurburgring with vvoc  no problems and we drove preety much non-stop! bring a passenger whos competent with the car if your driving nonstop so you can take a break

take a c/s sensor as a guys broke in our convoy easy job to change can be done at roadside on a veccy anyway!

take a spare thrust washer for autobox! - mine decided to disintagrate just as we drove of the ferry in cherbourg on the way to south of france :'(.

Drove all the way there and back and around for a week in manual mode which was ok but randomly tried to pull off in 3rd/4th :o
