Both of my XFR's have had warranty work undertaken for a fault with the central locking system.The car I now own had warranty work for a wing mirror that wouldn't fold and sounded like a loose nut in a food blender. £600 apparently.

Now both bonnet support struts have gone tits up. Luckily my head was not under the bonnet when they failed.

The 2 year warranty runs out in September. Any further repairs could prove expensive after that.

Time for a new car perhaps?

Actually, I've always been very fond of diesel cars.

I'm sure you'll imminently be receiving a glossy flyer explaining that, while JLR products are impeccably reliable, they'll happily sell you an extended warranry. For only slightly less than the average UK mortgage per month

Wifey's astra had a new accelerator pedal switch under warranty last week. Apparently, they'd 'had a few in'. But, with reference to your comment about new cars, I doubt Vauxhall had anything to do with making the electrical components.

Haven't Suburu just issued recall in Yankee land with brake switches being incompatible with owner's hygiene products.  I believe they are trying to avoid having to do a global recall.  Bless the Japs...

astra G 8valve  Z16SE year 2000 is DBW so 18 years ago
as is the 2.6 & 3.2 omega 2001 -2004

the x16szr 8 valve astra engine had a cable 1998 -2002 ,loved those simple engines
