 My new Miggy has a Nokia in car system plumbed into the radio. So I thought I'd get a phone to suit. As I use  Nokia at work, at least this one retains the call re-direct number so it dosen't need typing in every day.

Damned good phone, those. I only reluctantly gave mine up a year ago. Still in my desk drawer just in case.

Does what you want. Makes phone calls, receives phone calls and very little extra useless gay[size=9]_(c)TB[/size] tat on it.

Between my wife and I we have three of these languishing in drawers no longer used.
All gave sterling service but all started to switch  themselves off on their own accord, which was a great pain in the a**e ,probably down to my hard use of them.
These were one of the best phones ever and when I get around to it I must see if they can be re furbished.

Old school Nokia, some of the best mobiles.  Good software stability, only let down by the switching off issue after a few years, probably due to poor connection on the film circuit strip.

I still use one -- and it has, finally started to switch itself off ( so far only when in my pocket) --- so it mightbe time for it to go. Trouble is -- what to replace it with?  All I want is a phone and bluetooth ( and predictive text) ..... not interested in cameras or mobile command centres

Ahh the last of the "proper" nokias.
That fone & the cark91 car kit really were bomb proof.
I used to fit a cark 91 & not even test it, it was that reliable.
All you had to do to repair any problems was wipe the contacts on the bottom of the fone!

With regards to the switching off, its the battery getting loose on the back of the fone. Try a bit of card between the fone & battery. In most cases t helps

Old school Nokia, some of the best mobiles.  Good software stability, only let down by the switching off issue after a few years, probably due to poor connection on the film circuit strip.

The old bag has a Nokia 6230i (so do I somewhere, but never use it), and that seems to be fairly reliable.  We the carkit (ck-7w) it seems more reliable bluetooth than cradled, seems nokia still haven't got over the connection problem at the base of the phone.

I certainly steer clear of Symbian based Nokias, too unstable (and thats from someone who uses a Windows based phone!), and fiddly to use.

Those Nokia phones have been going for years. Probably now classics in the short time that mobiles have been around. Sizewise not too big and not too small. Probably the only phone you wouldn't knock for not having a colour display.

The one thing to be aware of, is although its handsfree, I believe the law says handheld electronic devices must be mounted...

Found this when researching the phone to fit the cradle.

All reports were that they were pretty much bomb-proof and personal phone my usage has gone down. so this will do.

i worked for Orange when these were brand new, a very rated phone that was practically bombproof, and is still in demand today.

Good ones are becoming sought after purely because people still like them, and it was the last reliable Nokia in a long while

Thats the nokia fix too   I was told to do that over the phone to nokia support when mine first started turning off....

In fact ive still got mine too........its the black version
