Special offer at the stealers
« on: 05 December 2006, 16:08:47 »

I was in my local stealership today waiting for the quite helpful parts chap to bring my bits when i noticed a special offer on CR2005 double din head units reduced to £130 (from £260)
This was at Drive Vauxhall, Avon Street Bristol if anybody is interested.

Well, in Vx terms it is a good deal.

However, £130 will buy a much better unit from other manufacturers.

So just out of interest what could you or anyone recommend for those with the double din.

I haven't personaly looked purely as I have the prefacelift so wouldn't fit.

I know tunnie on here recommended going single din instead of double din due to not being able to get the fascia that goes around the unit.

HTH :)

Confused here. would another manufactures unit go straight in? Or, would you have to pay a fortune for a panel or something. I speak as someone who would have to pay to have the job done.

You need from Halfrauds the Autoleads double DIN adaptor plate, and a suitable single DIN H/U

In simple terms, get a normal sized headunit. :)

Then buy a blanking plate off ebay for the space.

Single DIN unit (as they are known) give you lots of upgrading possibilities (as long as you pick the right unit.

Fitting is as easy as pull old unit out, remove old cage, slide in new cage fit new unit (unless you have the Bose system!)
