My old man had a '51 25 and paid hundreds having the HG done (at 60k) 'cause it was losing coolant... I swear it didn't actually have HGF though- no mayo, oil/water mixing etc etc. Alright little motor otherwise, not as solid as the '92 214 though. Nowhere near as many toys either- the 214 has leather, air-con, leccy sunroof, you name it! Some old dear must've paid a bleedin fortune for it!  ;D

Depends on the spec. All those are standard items on some models in range.  Didn't think the wedge 200 series had an AC option though  :-/

next time your on the m42 go and have a look at the factory now, if you have ever been to longbridge  before you will not believe its the same factory over 3/4 of it has disappeared(demolished) its only a very small part of it left, and i believe they have taken on something like 300 of the original workforce to produce chinese copies of the Mgf :(

Yeah, most of it gone.  Good riddance imho, longbridge was always Rover's problem - they never escaped the 70s workforce mentality

our new print factory in slough only exists because of that same 70s mentality. The old factory was in the centre of birmingham. Absalute mightmare by all accounts. How anybody expects a business to survive with that ball and chain round its ankle is beyond me.

jeez ryton as well? I spent years hauling new cars out of Longbridge and ryton for export sales when i was on the transporters, ten rovers or twelve 206s and i got paid for the loading of each car and the unloading of each car and the mileage i did taking them to the  docks!!! ah the good old days!! loadsamoney!!! ;D

I used to own a car from that lot from the Chrysler period, mine was made at Linwood and was a 3 door hatch.
