They can corner alright. Straight round or a managable drift. These little cars don't deserve the bad press. Yes i admit i've had one & i'd have another. Cracking little motors especially if you ignore the heathens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8-)

I have heard nothing but good things about them, its the image they have that has always been the issue......

I wouldn't hesitate having one, properly sorted  reckon they could be a real scream   :y

My mates got one, says they are brilliant.  like he says, not the fastest thing in a straight line but plenty of smiles on the bends.

Also there were some interesting convesions in the states with small block V8's.  Imagine one with a Miggy V6 init.   :y :y :y :y

Only downside is a grown man looks a poof in one...

Good point, well presented.....  To add, particularly if the man has grown more than your average man....

The only two things they fall down on are lack of space (obvious really) & silly people jumping on the bandwagon for a cheap laugh. How many other cars give such fun? (don't answer unless you've driven one please), & with the usual pampering will cover similar intergalactic miles as a Mig but without all the fussy sensors? Ok i've stuck my neck out again, in fact i think i just might buy another one & turn up to a meet with Pete, let you all have a go along the twisties & watch you eat your words. ::)!!!!!!!!

Thing is that the MX5 isn't an out and out sports car or a dragster, it was supposed to be a small two seater to take over where the MGB left off. If that's the benchmark for it then it's an overwhelming success.

When people start making comparisons against far more exotic machinery (which is what happened on the last MX5 thread on here) then of course it's weaknesses are going to be shown.

As I said, 'it does what it says on the tin'.

Hairdressers, Poofters? Is this why you don't want one Jaimie? They do them in autos if that helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why do MX5's have a poofter label? They're only a little sports car?

Not at the moment. The clutch slave cylinder packed up 10 minutes after I picked it up so I had to drive it home with no clutch but ive sorted that. Ive fitted a new back window and give it a service but ive still got the new exhaust and full set of discs and pads to do.
