You can still buy a 6310. It's recognised as a business phone because it does the job and it is so robust.

the first mobile i owned was a motorola which was the size of a breeze block with a house phone attached to it and cost me over a grand twenty odd years ago, how things have moved on  :o

these huge motorolas are in use in mountain regions still..They have

the signal clear even new model Nokias are dead.. :-?

WOW i thought they had died long ago, i must say though that the signal never failed when mine was in use. I still have it somewhere

Thats the beauty of an 8W transciever, will reach a mast and negotiate an 8W return whereas today 1/4W jobbies are tat once you get off the beaten track.

Ahh yes, the old greeny coloured one with the active 'shoot' button

Was buggy as hell, had about 4 replaced under warrenty = when I upgraded to the old 8310, one of the best phones I ever had, small, well featured and ultra reliable with great battery life.

trying to remember the one before - may have been 8110 - banana phone! for those that go back that far  ;D

Think it was the Mighty 8210 before the 8310....still have a couple of 8210"s....bloody good phones. :y

Nokia 8310. Loved it. Today's phones have pretty to look at but fiddly to use buttons. Still use it as an alarm clock. Got a 6500 classic now, does more but i only text & phone on it!!!! ::)

I've a Nokia 8310. I don't use it as a phone, but as an alarm clock  ;)
It's 6 yrs old now & still has the same battery which holds its charge for days  :)

My wife uses a Nokia 3310 as an alarm clock which is also about 6 years old. Original battery seems to still last for ages and ages. :)

my first phone was on the analogue network, was a Nokia Cityman, huuuuuge great thing.
I then progressed onto Mototorla MR602, a sort of ;full sized flip phone.
I prefer Motorola to nokia, always seemed more robust and reliable
My current collection looks something like this

7110
8310
7650
Communicator
sony Ericsson P800, P900 and P910
Sony Ericsson T68, T610
couple of Blackberries
Iphone
Motorola V6

I have had loads of phones, i get bored easily and so i trade them in before the contract is due

Seems a few of us have had 8310's & use them as alarm clocks.
Cracking little phones. Got spare batteries but when it finally dies i'll keep it anyway cos i'm a sentimental old fart!!! ::)
