Auto dipping mirror
« on: 01 October 2019, 15:04:27 »

On the underside of the mirror there is a light that shines onto the centre console. Can you replace the bulb or LED.

I think it's soldered in.

Should be able to replace it. The one in the Astra is much brighter than the Omega one.

Yes its an orange type light and I was told its there as "an ambient light for the centre console " if that makes any sense.

Heaven knows f the bulb is replaceable though as would need to take interior mirror apart but assume it must be.Best of luck with it and finding a suitable spare

Standard on all Elites (02 plate onwards) which strangely have those options as standard  ;D

Rain Sensor Pack.

Rain sensitive windscreen wipers, electrochromatic antidazzle rear view mirror, indirect night lighting.

Standard on Elites, £100 option on the rest of the range :y

So in theory could be fitted to a GLS :D

PM me if I forget to reply in a day or so, but I think I have the same mirror as you, from a Vectra C, spare. I'll check if this has the ambient light function, if so will be up for grabs shorty.  :y

This is the mirror fitted as part of the rain sensor pack. The Elites have a different mirror which includes a pair of motors which are set by the driver seat memory  :y
