Coronavirus

Hats off to the Chinese for their lockdown.

I thought the technology that showed the temperature of individuals in a crowd was impressive.

After watching the news at lunch, it was indecisive on a total lockdown , surely any decision is better than no decision ? Someone needs to grow a set..

Unlike England, they still haven't eliminated mad cow disease in Scotland, just watch any Wee Krankie video. ::)

On the news this morning it showed footage from Wuhan where the diggers were preparing the ground for the building of a new 1,000 bed hospital which they said would be up and ready within days :o

That fact is much more scary for the west than any virus they might export.

56 million in lockdown

Public transport stopped in 18 cities

3 cases in France.

That is some undertaking to build a thousand bed hospital in a week and another 1300  one in a further two weeks.

Yep, 10 days to be exact. A hospital over here would be three years in planning and procurement alone.

Up in London today & it's Lunar new year so London China town is packed with relatives & visitors. WHO have tested human-to-human infection rates at 3.8% +/-0.2%. This translates into a contained infection rate if 72-75% of infected people don't pass it on to a 2nd person, if they do we are into pandemic territory. :o :o :o   Simple to do the maths from this, where we are an open borders, travel freedom sh*t street. So, I will see you all on the other side & I'm grabbing 1 of the hotter seats in hell where I don't like the cold. :P

If Lord Opti & Uncle STEMO fall off their perches it is much more likely to be from their very, very old ages, rather than any illness. :P :P :P

Makes me wonder if they knew something was afoot a while ago. I (and every other arriving passenger/crew member) was scanned for increased body temperature when I flew out to Shanghai on 04/01/20.

I suppose it could now be standard practice at all PRC airports, I don't remember it when I was last out there in 2017.  :-\

It's weird seeing those pictures and videos of deserted streets, with nobody out and about and all the shops with their shutters down....  :(  :-\
