Spanner light v6
« on: 18 February 2020, 09:55:22 »

3.2 2003 mv6

Had oil in well so replaced rocker cover and gasket. Installed 6 new plugs. All bolts torqued to manual specs.

I also replaced all intake seals  on lower and middle plenum

Also replaced the vac lines with brand new genuine vaixhall vac pipe.

Car runs ace now smoother idle pick up better.

But every now again spanner loght comes on. Then goes of on own with in a few mins

Checked with obd scanner no codes. Done pedal trick no codes

Anyone any guesses

Probably emissions, lambda sensor temporarily upset. They worry too much. My wife tells me I do so too. Best ignore it. She ignores me.

Mine does that.  My understanding is that the first cat is probably temporarily not doing it's job.

A tired precat will cause the light to come on and stay on until cleared.

You need a code reader on it whilst the light is on. Do not turn off car.

Pre cat lambda issue  will throw up management light not spanner light..

As stated it all sorted was rear multi ram plug not connected properly

I don’t have cat issue on mine as moved sensor to back of full cat and they’re genuine cats
