With the average age of posters on here, it's a wonder there aren't more reports of actual telly smashing events.
True, but replacing the telly is more hassle than the short lived satisfaction of punching it...

And being of a certain vintage, we're old enough to think shit through  ;D

I suspect the truth is nearer the utter ineptness of the NHS buyers. Along with the rest of the suits there.

Probably.  ::)

We might all be right.  If there is a cheap generic version from somewhere like India or the Philippines, the NHS procurement bods would  keep buying XYZ brand from Texas, Toronto or Toledo because that is where they've always got it from.  :)

Why wouldnt they ? Its not their money, and they arent accountable to anyone. They are all god like superheroes after all.  ::)

Yeah, maybe on the frontline. Come down to everyday local services like GPs and things are as dire as they've always been. I had to get past the gatekeeper on reception today to book a five minute phone call from a locum GP. He'll ring anytime from 9:30 till 5, she said, like it was normal.

Having had a lot of experience of the frontline over the last 20 years, Im afraid my experiences have shown me that caring heroic people are few and far between, even there.
I wish I thought differently, because its very controversial in the present climate, but Ive seen and heard, what Ive seen and heard and media driven national hand clapping isnt going to erase any of it.

I thought it was driven by the 5G Mobile networks to hide the switching on of the corona injecting cellular masts ;D

I just wanted to punch the tellybox yesterday
I had the same feelings watching the news, about the <whatever I'm allowed to call the gentleman of African origins> who was shot by the copper.

It seems, even by the BBC's admission, that:
Black bloke found pissed and asleep behind the wheel in his car by 2 white plod
Suspecting some substance abuse, they ask him to do that walk test and a breath test, both of which he failed
They ask him to walk back to a nearby relative, and not to drive
He refuses, so they go to take him into custody
He then struggles, nicks one of their tasers and runs
He then turns back (whilst still running away) and points the taser at one of plod
Plod immediately, possibly instinctively, lets off a round

And that, in the current climate, apparently is a reason to slap a murder charge onto plod.  Racism?  I bet a similar outcome would have happened if it was anyone of any colour, but only makes the news because there is an agenda around the whole racism thing currently.

Fortunately, I managed to turn off the telly before I threw the remote through the screen.

They shot him three times which is arguably two more than necessary, especially as they tased him three times first.

Clearly wasn't thinking straight to think that grabbing a taser and running away was a good idea.

How straight would you think after taking drugs and drinking booze?  ;D

And then put the boot in at the end, for good measure ;D

But the video the beeb showed show the perp running, turning and pointing a (presumably taser) gun like object at the nearest copper, who appeared to let of 1 or 2 shots.  I'd call that self defence TBH.

If that was me, I'd put the boot in as well, just at the thought of all the paperwork caused ;D

All this media coverage is going to make Western police targets, as everyone will know there will be memos going around the UK police force now saying not to arrest afro-carribean people, and those people can kick/spit/abuse/slash/shoot the police without fear of reprisal.  The media will/are making out that UK/US police are evil.  Whilst I'm sure some are bad apples, and some are racist, I suspect the vast majority are normal people like the rest of us, with a strong sense of right and wrong, and care not about skin colour, and treat everyone equally.

Would it be politically incorrect to black up before I go out on the rob?  ;D

According to the BLM brigade, it will increase your chances of being arrested and convicted of the robbery.

If them Police in America had turned a blind eye to the drink/drug driver asleep at the wheel, and he wiped out 5 innocent pedestrians (of any race)on his drive home , I doubt very much it would make news in the UK

My take on it ....
don't break the law ,
if you break the law ,expect to be arrested and thrown i a cell
expect to appear in court and be jailed or fined
if you resist arrest and run off ,expect to be tasered or shot
that applies what ever race, religion or sexuality you decide you are
the world has gone soft ,rules are there for a reason  ::)
