boot release button

ny boot release button got light on when open but button wont work for a long time only opens with fob.do you think new switch needed?

1.There's a mod in the guides section.

Check this has been done properly, ie soldered/insulated.

2.You are pressing the switch and holding it? It requires a 1-2 second push to work.

3.Is the car a facelift? If not, check that the boot lock hasn't been locked with a key. The lock has a manual over ride position, and won't open if the lock is turned to this position.

4.Is the boot lid sticking down? Mine was playing up on Friday having been parked in full sunlight.

If none of the above, then a new switch may well be needed :y
