tax rebates???

i got into work tonight and my supervisors told that there gonna be a shake up on tax codes and that a lot of people r gonna get rebates.....anybody heard anything like this on the news cause i cant seem to find anyhting out and i dont know if i `m being wound up..... :-/

few quid cause of this 10p tax rule thing which i don't fully understand, but i bet they will find a way to get it back, robbing g!ts.

They are supposed to be repaying the money stolen off us when they abolished the 10 tax bracket -- then did a turnaround -- but my understanding is that we still won't get back what they took in the first place!!!!

had a tax rebate every year for last 17 years. usually pays for nice holiday.

i got 1500 back in may, same as every yr i get a nice rebate  :) :) :)

How on paye do you get a rebate, they just told me I paid £150.00 too little and that they are going to take it back this year. :(

im self employed, cis. i do self assesment every yr that takes me no more than 15 mins, within a week i get my rebate :) :) :)
had accountant do it few yrs ago, charge me 350 quid and had to wait months for money.

makes 2 of us. claim for everything. fuel, running costs, phone, working gear, hotels, can even claim a little bit back from running costs of house because i have an office upstairs. got a bloody good accountant ( he detests the tax man, with a vengance).

as for being paye. just keep all reciepts related to work, fuel, working clothes bus/train fares, parking etc etc. go to tax office in september ask for tax returns fill it in send it off with all your reciepts and keep fingers crossed.

Still its a night of poker or a night poking so cant grumble i suppose.
