Not if it's offshore it won't.

Makes no difference. If he's UK tax resident (don't see how he can't be if he spends more than 180 days in the UK per year) then he has to account for all his worldwide earnings to the UK HMRC. Unless you're accusing him of tax evasion with no evidence  ::)

It's a different situation for people like Lewis Hamilton who aren't UK tax resident because they live abroad (Monaco/Swizerland/wherever) and spend less than 180 days in the UK per year.

Rushfords dirty laundry regarding his financial situation was laid out on Twitter,  he's a typical football type, lots of ltd company, some tax fiddling, The usual tax evasion done by those that can afford too.

And? You or I can register lots of Ltd co's if we want. How does it help you maximise your own personal wealth whilst paying minimal tax? Any method of extracting millions of cash from a Ltd co carries a +/- 50% ish tax bill.

And it's not tax evasion - that's illegal. It's tax avoidance which is perfectly legal.

Again, accusations with no evidence. If you have evidence of tax evasion give it to HMRC and let them investigate and prosecute him.

Nothing wrong with Tax avoidance or Wealth Management. Everyone should do it unless you want to give the Govt more money than they are legally entitled to.

What's your point then ???

I haven't accused him of anything. I merely suggested that it is hypothetically possible to get paid the bare minimum whilst losing the rest into a tax efficient manner...

He wouldn't be the first person to use an expensive accountant. In fact he would be the first celeb type not to

I is confused ....  (not difficult I know ...)

You seem to be very much against Mr M Rashford using accountants to avoid paying excessive tax ... it appears you believe this to be very wrong ....

yet when Mr D Trump avoids paying taxes by similar means, you support his right to do so ??

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/29/us/trump-750-taxes.html

It transpires, that he didn't actually need to pay the $750, not that that would ever be the headline.

Do I detect the mearest hint of hypocrisy here ???

You're confused? Thee and mee both :D

How a multi million pound sports 'personality' does or doesn't pay their taxes is entirely up to them. Tax 'avoidance' is common place amongst those who are in a position to do so.

Malcolm was the one who took issue with it... (or perhaps the phrasing).

I believe the issue with Mr Rashford is that he is presumed to live 'like a millionaire' whilst demanding that the government, and therefore we, fork out for something the he could well do himself. I say believe, because it isn't something that I have been paying any mind to.

And as you brought it up, Trump doesn't take a penny of his Presidential salary... Can't see many 'woke' celebrity types doing the same.

Stop it with the accuracy, already. That's no way to run an election.

According to the 'bible of absolute truth' known as Wiki.... ;D Marcus Rashford made £10.4 million last year. That is a lot of money for a lad who isn't old enough to shave. :)

That Welsh fella (his name evades me) coins a much more satisfactory £600,000 a week.
