I predict that Boris has bottled it, although not as badly as May did. He will of course try and spin it as the greatest victory since VE day. ::)

I hope we got something like Brexit. I never thought we could break completely and I don't really see what the advantages of that would be. I'm hearing that the ECJ will not be ruling on disputes, that was essential to a Brexit. Let's wait and see although, as Varche says, you can't please everyone.

The advantage would be returning to being a Sovereign, democratic, self governing nation state.
That was what we voted for.
Economic matters have been used as a smokescreen to try and erase those more important issues from the discussion.

Why such a big deal about the fishing , it makes up less than 0.2% of the economy , I guess French fishermen have Macron over a barrel ?

Its very important, not for economic reasons, but the fact that if an island nation doesnt have control over its own waters it could be argued it isnt really a nation at all.
Also, Heath  heartlessly sacrificed the UK fishing industry in the 70,s and impoverished the communities which had been built around it for centuries around the coast.
They have hung on by their fingernails for 50 years, and deserve to have back what should never have been taken from them in the first place.

Leavers will say it doesn't go far enough, remainers it goes too far. It was always going to be that way. The fact that there's been no announcement yet shows that both sides are looking for something that they can present as a victory.
