Seen that kind of attitude before with currys drivers and mates and comet ones as well....if it is a U.S. style f/f it would of taken approx 15 mins to get the doors off and get it into house if the crew know what they are doing...sounds like to me it was "oh sugar, i dont want to do this drop...tell em its gotta be 3ms to deliver it...."tell em you want your del charge refunding for the inconvience of their cock up or your going to cancel and go to comet trust me they`ll play ball they would rather give back the £25-50 del charge than lose a £600 plus sale to comet or anyone else for that matter...

I just use these stores as a place to view the product and generally wind upa nd piss off the sales staff when they cant sell me the item for a reasonable price.

Then I get a few mates round to help with the shifting!

Used to have a great place on the industrial estate who would match any price, inc internet, for white goods, and deliver into kitchen (usually had to give the driver a hand etc though) - a real old fashioned service, at internet prices :y

Looks like the DSG group is getting it's just deserts.
Dixons Group still suffering (from The Register)

A couple of things made me smile:
"The company's change programme is progressing - 5 PC World stores have been refitted..."
That'll fix it then.

"Staff training is also ongoing with 20, 000 "colleagues" expected to have completed customer service training by Christmas. "
Priceless  :o

i used to work in currys for a xmas job about 8 years ago, never buy from them!

I was upstairs in the store room, we had a conveyor belt that led upstairs, which was full of TV's

Customer just bought 32" Sony TV (old big style thing) A corner of the box got caught going down, i gave it a light kick  ::)

It then sumasult'd down the conveyor belt, rotating about 6 times in total. Boss saw and looked up, me expecting the sh!t kicked out of me calmly said, whos that for?

I said bald chap out front, off it went!  :o

We had new cooker bits* last year, I was supposed to fit the non gas bits as there was no actual installation, but since I had removed the fan and the oven they did the lot

*Gas hob, built under electric oven, extractor fan

As a wee update, basically, nowt doing....

Earliest the 'heavy lift team' can attend at my home with the fridge freezer is Sunday, possibly Saturday if theres a cancellation, and thats that.  The lass in the store pushed the wrong button when on the ordering screen on her PC and, as a result, where we are today.  Spoke to her personally and she was most apologetic and, for once, I actually believed her sincerity.

Despite calling personally into and phoning or e-mailing around what seems like the whole of the UK, its the earliest option thats available and, as a result, has robbed me of my weekend away.

Oh rowlocks..........

Not impressed.......   >:(

Seems it was a genuine error on her part -- but the least they could do is offer some compo or waive the delivery charge, as a gesture of goodwill ....surely ???

I'd tell em to be there 5 o'clock Monday (or some other time that suits you .. not them) without fail or the deal is off, and have an enjoyable weekend away.

try telling that to wifey who is still spitting feathers that her kitchen is now a bombsite.  Stretching that by a day is, seriously, not an option!   ;D
