I know tongue in cheek, but as soon as you put anything on the Internet with a static IP, it becomes an immediate target, and will be probed in under an hour. If any interesting* service is open, that will be targeted shortly after. So, yeah, even poor OOF is a target, with unsolicited attempts to hack it every minute of every day.
*things that could be used to get an exploit, such as RDP on a Windows server or SSH on a Linux server (and a web server will happily tell you what the server's OS is), or if there is a known exploit that hasn't been patched, like a lot of database services, or NTP, or a million and one other things.
