Anyone got a spare motherboard
« on: 05 December 2006, 21:24:52 »

Need a 'new' mobo. New as in new to me. Due to case and requirements, I don't have much of a choice brand new.

It must be Socket 478, have SATA, Firewire, SPD/IF audio, and specific AGP and PCI slot locations due to riser - basically, AGP needs to be slot 7 (ie in line with the mounting hole next to rear panel, and a PCI slot next to it in slot 6.

Intel D865PERLK is the ideal board.

Anyone got something suitable they want to sell me?

Intel D845PEBT2 would also suffice...

Was great fun, very therapeutic. This mobo was actually brand new and less than a day old but it pissed us off too much, even the boss joined in:

lol yep. VIA don't make very good chips. Remember their Cyrix M CPU's? Good if you wanted your computer to double up as a radiator.

probably unfair on via, as they bought Cyrix to obtain other technology. Cyrix processors were always rubbish...
