Someone once told me about a chap who apparently obtained a mortgage against a 2D rendition of a house that had been erected as an eye catcher for a mew development in East Grinstead.

The development was a ways back off the main road, and this billboard had been put in about halfway along the entrance road and behind a tree or two and some landscaping so that you got some attractive glimpses of what lay beyond.

One can only assume, if true, that the surveyor didn't even turn off the main road, let alone stop ;D
