Why shouldnt they refuse him a room....excatly what makes him so special..????

The hotel can refuse who they want...maybe it was a case they didnt want other squaddies turning up.

Sorry canmt see what all the fuss is about.... ::)
What makes him so special? Only that he is prepared to lay his life on the line to defend Queen, Country and our cosy way of life. In my opinion, society owes him a debt of respect for this which it clearly didn't show in this case.

Its a job.... ::)

could,nt agree more Amigov6.
you can get hung drawn and quartered ,so to speak, for percieved discrimination against all sorts of people,so if it is lawful to discriminate against a soldier who has returned from serving his country then the law and justice really are distant cousins.

i have no problem with army people
but serving his country is a big world ... it s all about ego and tristy
uk and usa ((not people)) they go to afghnestan and iraq for what ??? since they
been their over 155000 childern age 4 -12 died b'use of 9,11??no i dont think so
they should the gone to my country persia/iran .b'use that goverment is
100% terrorist((not people)) but they dont why ?? b'use petrol would be £5 a liter
so serving his country is  wrong word.  i dont think the people in army see it as they serving thier country it s more like a job that s it.
if i t was serving country that hotel guy wouldnt even charge him for 1 night room...that s how i think but maybe iam wrong

Sorry but all this ""I signed up for queen and country"" in my opinion is over played....no doubt a handful may but for many im sure its seen as steady work/carrier and some saves going on the dole, lets face it you don't meet too many cannon fodder with degree"s now do you.

Work/worked with enough ex servicemen in my job and the doors too have been able to form an opinion.

So again i say what makes him special....should they have bowed and scraped and allowed him a room....NO they shouldn't as he"s no different from an accountant....a shelf stacker or a road sweeper as he"s chosen too do a JOB as they would have. ::)

He was, as I understand it, in the area to arrange the funeral for a fellow soldier who was killed in action. No, it's not just a job as you put it. These guys are expected to expose themselves to ROUTINE fatal danger in the course of their duty. No other "job" would permit such exposure.

Would YOU do it?

The UK's armed forces deserve our respect and support.

I suggest that your comment, "It's just a job", is inappropriate.  >:(

No i certainly wouldn't do it as ive no interest in serving such a cess pit of a country and cant understand why anyone would. ::)

He signed up for it so he would have wanted it....why bitch about it when it happens.

He has made a decision too go too war and quite possibly kill or be killed why on earth should i admire that. ::)

Oh and lets be perfectly honest a large proportion of squaddies are piss head yobs on leave....says it all really.

I'm not man enough to be a soldier & serve in peace or wartime. Neither could i be a fireman etc. I lack the self discipline & the bottle which is why i drive a truck for a living. I already made the point that they signed up out of choice, the fact that they did puts them above the likes of you & i in our civvy jobs.
So no matter how proud i am in my artic & no matter how proud you are stood on a club door both our jobs do'nt come close to what they might have to face.

In no way suggesting what we do does as you say it simply cant....thats not the issue i have.

The issue i have is people banging on about how unjustly the soldier was treated....i dont feel he was,the hotel has every right too refuse him which is what they did.

But as he is a solider they start dragging up how he risks his live for his country....now that makes me sick far too much like the American sickly sweet shite.

He slept in his car ffs....not exactly as if he had too sleep rough. ::)

People seem too quickly forget what happens when you get a group of squaddies together......piss up punch up throw up......!!!

Hence why i don't agree with all the bullshit comments people churn out.

you seem to be the sort of person who wants it both ways wants a decent country to live in but would run a mile if you had to enlist in the forces to help serve the country which you clearly say you dont like
