It isnt the Orangemen who tend to set fire to Police Land Rovers, and other peoples property as a rule.

Although it isnt
completely unheard of for so called Loyalists to do so when they feel particularly angry or under threat.
We always had huge bonfires when I was a kid. I used to spend weeks of the summer holidays up the nearby hills, which were covered in trees, lopping off the biggest branches I could find. Then dragging them half a mile back to the bonfire site. Cant imagine many 10 year olds these days having a razor sharp hatchet as their favourite toy.

It was a bit of a competitive sport to see which area could build the biggest. The Shankill road usually won.
We used to build a wooden hut with a tunnel extending out from it and then build the bonfire around it.
One day I was sat in the hut under the bonfire, daydreaming, and the local Catholics came along and set fire to the bonfire.
If it wasnt for my Dad looking out the window seeing them do it, and suspecting I might be in there, I may not be sat here typing this.

To his dying day he claimed they knew I was in there, and that it was attempted murder.
I have my doubts.
