Based on CEM's reply to Mark's excellent article on
Compression Ratio and the possibily of more to come, how about an OOF Wiki?
Advantages:
It would solve the problem of the evergreen "coolant loss", "fault codes", "crank sensor" posts.
It would provide a central repository for FAQs, How-To and Knowledge Base articles.
Disadvantages:
I have no idea how to set one up, let alone administer one.
I am assuming it would be locally hosted, therefore server space and bandwidth limitations.
I am not criticising the current system . It works well in providing us with valuable, good quality information and is part of the reason why this is such a good forum.
It just strikes me that a Wiki is a better system for delivering that information in an accessible and efficient way.
I am no website expert, but I would be more than happy give up some of my own time to help out. I also have about 299.6 Gb a month free on my hosting account if it helps.
