LCO 112G , please don't concern yourself about my finances I'm more than happy with our financial position wouldn't take advice from anybody at my age, I've come this far and am sitting pretty.
As for being stupid I think you may be very surprised.
You could win enough to go on a holiday somewhere exotic, Mick. Then spend all of your time posting on here while you were there.  ;D ;D

Ha ha Steve, good to hear from you I never post when on holiday why would anyone want to do that ? 😂😂😂 Left my phone at home when in Yorkshire a few weeks ago it was great.

I agree.

Premium bonds 'can' give a good return if the investor gets lucky.

Nothing 'stupid' about buying premium bonds as part of a financial package. :y

Not quite sure what LCO112G is trying to achieve here. :-\

I'm perfectly happy with other people buying PB's, since as I've explained ultimately it inflates share prices and therefore increases the returns that I get on my share based assets. It also reduces the taxes I have to pay. I'm just making sure everyone understand that the decision to buy PB's is better for other people than it is for you - unless you win the big prize - which you won't.

I won't invest in things I don't understand, and there are plenty of things I don't understand (VCT's for instance). OEIC/Unit Trust funds are easy to understand, and carry much less risk than single share investing. You don't have to understand share investing to buy funds.

Anyway, if it makes you happy to buy PB's carry on. I've disclosed how you are subsidising me.

I lost a shit load of money with The Wellesley.

I knew there was risk but I still think the fund managers could have done better. It seems they would lend to just about anyone. :-X :-X

Ah well......at least I still have my good looks. ;D

I looked in to trying them and after a bit of home work I found out they have have a few registered companys and thought they might lose funds amongst them.

The problem is; We moan about the constant stream of woke stories, but it's exactly the same listening to you in the opposite direction. The incessant news broadcasts about this kind of stuff make me switch to another channel. On here it's easier to log out for a while.

Don't be so cruel Dave!! :o :o :o ;D ;D ;D

But, I know some on here do not and that is why they jump to conclusions on what I have actually said. ::) ::)

However, it is not personal as many threads / posts on the OOF are not read or even responded to which have made many give up on contributing in the first place. :D :D ;)

Shame, but such is life on social media! ::) ::) ;)

My mum bought several Premium Bonds way back in 1956 when they first started and hasn't won a single bean. Well, when I say this, I assume that it's up to the individual to check for themselves as obviously there was no internet or email back then to check or be notified. It only reminded me when I read this thread and looked in their safe and found them.
She could have missed out but hey ho, it wouldn't do her any good now. It would have just been more that the care companies could have taken off her.
