Yes, and she has done the right thing as her "jokey" video has just made this all far worse, especially for those we are now hearing about who lost loved ones at the time and could not have relatives join them in their grief.  Disgusting in the extreme.

Contrary to my post #3 in this thread, I now believe Boris has allowed this to go all too far when he could have calmed the waters by apologizing for whatever went on and taking action against those responsible.  As usual his bumbling, clumsy, arrogant toff style has allowed this to happen.

I am a Tory, but this should mean he goes as soon as possible.  There have just been too many mistakes made for any political leader to make without paying 'the price'!!

This wont finish Boris off. He will probably  sacrifice a few uncivil servants, half way down the food chain who are doing non jobs anyway.
It will damage him though. Its the drip drip effect. I doubt that he is in it for the long term anyway so might not be that bothered..
It is disgraceful though.
These are the people who made the rules that meant the 600 people who died of Covid that day, had to die alone, and probably terrified.
Their families suffered not being able to be with them and say goodbye to them, or indeed give them the funeral they would have chosen.
These people (50 of them apparently) had a piss up and then found it hilarious in their practice press conference afterwards.

To me, it sounded like it was an embarrassed laugh, rather than a "it was funny".  Probably embarrassed as she knew that she was unable to excuse the unexcusable.

Probably harsh she had to go, as ultimately it should be those that allegedly broke the rules that should go.  But the media had already painted it as she found it a bit of a lark.
