The young girl who won a tennis match this year is also unwarranted imo.
I know it was quite an achievement ,but even so.....
A year ago no-one had heard of her. She wins one match and suddenly deserves a medal ?

Sports personality of the year I can understand. She had a good year after all, and the award recognises achievements in the past year.
A new year honour, however, is supposed to recognise a lifetime of achievements, so not sure how you can get one at 19. There's plenty of time for her to turn into a total liability yet.
