Apparently, a significant proportion of the UK population need to be in a state of complete depression, so our state and private broadcasters peddle this tripe.

Just look at the listings, to see what us Brits want to watch - celebrity(??) shagging/cooking/maggot eating/dancing, dreary depressing soaps, tired old reality shows that should have been canned years ago.  99+% of it is mindless crap.


Now try and argue that the British Public aren't thick?
