I want my money back

I paid circa £180 for lateral flow tests and PCR bookings for my lad and his gf to travel abroad. From 4am on Friday they've been scrapped. I demand a refund.

Really not bothered  ;D Just pleased to know they don't have to rely on a poxy piece of plastic to determine whether they fly or not.

Nobody seems to have a clue what direction the virus is going in so just carry on and hope for the best seems to be  the attitude at present.

People entering the UK should be made to do and pay for a PCR test .
so a sample of tests can be sequenced ,so the UK can keep an eye out for new variants .
Omicron might be much more transmissible but milder  ,a new variant may not be .

With cases as high as they are here, the next significant mutation is likely to come from England anyway. Again.

Also , if they can't afford a couple of hundred quid for tests then WHY would we want them coming to the UK anyway  :D

Are they confirmed as not required on arrival?

Might be prudent to take the tests anyways ;)

I just give up with the government nonsense being spewed out at present, just rely on commonsense it's worked for me so far .

Quite possibly
BUT ...
we do sequence a percentage of PCRs to monitor for new variants
as did S.Africa to find Omicron
not many countries have the technology to bother

Nothing to do with affording it, just not required any more.
But as my first post it "should be required" to protect the UK's interests   ;)
