I went with another 16 year old lad. Nobody cared how old you were back then as long as you had the money to get in and buy a few drinks.

One stripper presumably recognised I was extremely young and thought she'd have a bit of fun. She tuned around and beckoned to me to unclasp her bra.

As I did she spun around and slapped me hard across the face causing the audience to erupt with laughter.

Very embarrassing at the time,  but a fond memory now.

The pub down the road from the backpackers hostel I stayed at for few weeks in Perth, Western Australia back in the day, had lunchtime strippers, so that was a popular place to go for a liquid lunch on days off, before heading to the WACA for a spot of cricket or the beach for a surf. Happy daze!

£10 pom?    That was Lord Opti's generation!   

No I was more like a £2000 pom, where I had to have at least AUS$4000 in my bank account to prove I wasn't going to be a burden on Australia as one of the conditions for my work visa.
