Thanks lads  :)

Did a bit of research this morning (MOT's ect) before work and decided to scratch this one firmly off the list.

Got offered a very honest A6 Allroad last night for 3 grand but the 600 quid road tax made me cry  :o

With the omega's MOT up in September, I always get the temptation to jump at this time of year.
The omega's rear nearside driveshaft has started clicking away on monday when driving back from a dirty weekend away in Scarborough.
Luckily i've got a 3.7 diff and 2 dry shafts on the breaker which is my job for the weekend which should hopefully keep her fit for the summer pikey van season but sooner or later she is going to have to go  :'(

'dangle berries', why is owning cars so frustrating  ::)

....tell me about it. :-\ :-\

£630 to be exact. :-\

I had a thing for these cars long before Nige Entwood took the plunge.
I know  :'(  ...........   I chased a 10 plate 3ltr A6 Allroad about 3 years ago with a manual gearbox.
Missed out on it then and lord behold its up for sale again in Skipton this week  8)
Looked at the missus with those big puppy dog eyes this morning .............  Divorce was mentioned  :D

Are you looking at my dream allroad in Skipton Al ??
I don't know about this seller but the bloke before was a motorcycle racer who used it to pull his bike around the country hence it was well looked after

If it suits why not? But not for me... Would rather fly BryanAir* than voluntarily own another VAG product.

*Obviously, that's not going to happen as long as I have a hole in my arse.

Yet you happily own non classic MB products ;D

One man's poison is another man's desire.  For example, all the BL/AR/Rover cars I've had have been excellent, reliable little workhorses despite the reputation.  I'd own another if they still existed.

Yes Mercedes remind me of the Lada Rivas my aunt had in the eighties, just made a little better. I'd have a Renault before a Merc.

The Barge was almost vintage to some... Nearly as old as some of lads at work :D

Yep....My 2005 Mercedes CLS 500  'double banana shape car' looked good but had the build quality of a KFC box. :-X

My Tata was far better assembled as well as being faster and more reliable. :y

.

Couldn't fault my E430 ran it for 4 years no repairs at all 2 new tyres and a service each year sold it back to the dealer I bought it from, he sold it within a week but in all honesty it was no better than my 2.6 Omega, but the Range Rover beats the pair of them.

But was still after the era from when MB cars were reasonably well designed and made, and in the ongoing era when they have no designers, and hence poorly made.  Hence it was a bit shit, if you're being honest with yourself.
