Green Stuff
« on: 18 February 2022, 19:59:36 »

So they say that oil and gas production will have to stop to meet climate change targets like Net Zero in 2050. Indeed already government support for North Sea oil and gas is lukewarm to say the least, and it's been said that is why Shell walked away from the Cambo oilfields off of the Shetland Islands.  :-\

You might find it surprising then that it turns out that a useful by product of refining crude oil is a key component of batteries and the UK is at the cutting edge of producing this stuff!  :y

Interesting read here and video here.  :)

I don't suppose Sky showed Trudy crying about the truckers, sorry, terrorists last week...

Anyhoo, here's a question...

Why are we hell bent on being reliant on batteries to bolster traditional renewable? Why not accept them for what they are? I mean, for example, if people had to choose between Faceachebook and Loveless island or cooking tea and heating, wouldn't everyone be better off? :-\

On a positive note, should Scotland ever return to France, we get to keep Orkney and Shetland and the oil fields. Just in case.
