I thought having tp pull the rear seats out of step daughters C70 convertible to get at damper top nuts was bad enough,but that's a whole other level

Have to say, that wiring looks pretty shoddy.

Popping out the rear side trims ought to be enough.

Also, are you certain that they are internally mounted?

Often the shock is mounted to a bracket that then bolts up externally.

That's why I am glad I have hung my spanners up, its like most modern stuff that's way to complicated. Most front strut tops are buried under the windscreen now as well.

I have unclipped the covers for where it bends around the wheel arch, for access. And had to unclipped the loom from its studs in a few places to remove panels.

Needs a touch from the hot metal glue gun , Ive just put a set of front pads into a 2014 XJ/L, bloody calipers are huge but pads are mondeo size, whats the point in that

Presumably that a glue gun and special glue?

As for XJ pads, pretty sure mine a the same calipers ford use, due to that odd size allen bolt that ford love.  The V8 ones have proper size calipers, discs and pads, as you'd expect.

My brother's MKIII Escort used a 7mm Allen key somewhere on the front calipers years ago. The fronts on my R Class also used a 7mm on the front slider pins & the rears used 11mm ....
