This dishwasher must be 6 or 7 years old, or more - anyone remember the photo of my old one up on axle stands .

Its been so bloody good, not sure I want a new one, that now doubt will be eco friendly, slow, and useless.

Its developed a leak from a pipe that goes to the flood detection float *when* then dishwasher finishes its cycle.  Other end of pipe appears to go to a plastic tray that sits under the door.

Strimmers!    I always spend more time sorting out the strimmer line than I do whacking weeds!

I’m pissed off about what happened to me this afternoon but I can also see the funny side.

I was helping my son with some fencing when I stood back on to his drain cover. The frame is rotten (I didn’t know that at the time  ) so the inspection plate flipped over and I fell down the 4 foot deep drain.    One leg went right down the drain and was dangling and my other leg was still outside of the hole.    I skinned my leg on the way down but pretended that it didn’t hurt as I felt a plank for doing it.    I’ve dabbed it with antiseptic wipes due to being on medication so it smarts a bit and the leg that got left behind outside the hole has discomfort in my hip, but hey ho, I’m alive so I carried on with the fencing.   
My son is really concerned about me but it must have looked as funny as fick to him.    I’ll have to add a new inspection plate to my list of jobs now.

Thank you for your wise words.    I know I push my luck health wise at times since the operations but I started to feel useless and it started to drag me down. I’ll have to be more careful in future but you’re right, I should just say that I’m not able to do certain jobs anymore.

I made that sound as if my children ask me to do jobs so I should clarify that my children never ask me to do jobs. They ask for advice and I offer to help them, so all of my own making really.

If you enjoy helping/doing it then it’s obviously good but like as been said be more careful👍 that’s coming from someone who recently walked off the edge of a scaffold🤣 and I’ve been using them for over 50 years😱😁 luckily minor damage cracked rib and partial black eye back in work in a week although bloody painful, but certainly not the first time and probably won’t be my last. Try your best to take it easy but do what you want when you want how you want it’s your time now 👍😉

I didn't want to tell my son that I couldn't do early/late/middle of the night airport runs any more. Apart from not liking driving in the dark, my body just doesn't work as well as it used to at those times. The days of jumping out of bed and straight out the front door are gone. I need a good hour to come round. He was a little bit pee'd off because he couldn't book three in the morning £2.50 flights from Wizz Air any more, but he understood it was dangerous.

Cordless autofeed strimmer and a petrol lawnmower.  My grass takes just a few minutes to do front and back
