An email informing me that the new dishwasher delivered yesterday cannot be installed till Monday when it should have been today, fortunately I pulled the old one out last night, could see that the electrics need a bit of tidying up so that's the job for today.
My dishwasher is up on blocks. Again.  I might strike up the enthusiasm to put it back together after work, and shove it back where it should be.  Its had a few days now of working properly in its partially dismantled state ;D

I take it your appliances are fitted, Mick. Mine are all free standing so I usually have them in and working within an hour of delivery. My oven is fitted but that's a piece of piss to do yourself.
Mind you........I replaced the washing machine a couple of months ago (Samsung) and I'm sure the fickin thing weighed about twice as much as the old one. I worked up a bit of a sweat and had to sit down for a while afterwards.  :-X

They wanted £49.95 to connect up our electric oven.

Easy enough to do yourself  even though the cables are thick. Basic tools did the job in about 20 minutes.

Remember to turn off the electricity supply first though. :)

No such luxury for us.

The cable was very stout so hard to bend into the right shape. Doable though. :)

It slides in to the left of the kitchen sink Steve, easy to pull it out & just as easy to put back, all done now cost me £3.39 for a new 13 amp switched socket as the old one looked a bit tired fitting by the guy who was supposed to be coming round was £25 but he's cancelled now so I've got enough for 4 pints tonight..🍺🍺🍺🍺I couldn't be arsed to do it myself when we ordered it but glad I did it now.

Looking at ovens today... Most are 16A now, so good luck running that through a 13A socket without consequence.

'Normal' ones, not the special stuff you seem to come across on the internet, are 2x3Kw heating rings and 2x2Kw. I make that 10Kw
They come with a 13 amp plug fitted, nothing to do with luck  ::)

Always pays to quote the reply you are referring to, Mick  ;D
Especially on a forum that starts with a starter motor and somehow ends up with grandmas piles  ;D

I'm sure he'll realise Steve, he seems to have a strange obsession with my posts quite sad really, a lot of mental health issues perhaps.

They feel that they have to post about anything and everything, it gets the old postcount up, and that makes you important  ;D
