I don't leave my dogs downstairs, they have always been upstairs with me. It was more the sound of investigative pattering about and the smell of shit. 
He settled eventually and only whined at me after he'd had a poo about three o'clock. Once I removed the pad out of the room he settled again. Mustn't like the smell of his own shit. It was wifey that woke him up then, getting up for work.
He just falls asleep at the drop of a hat. I was playing with him a minute ago. Then.....

Been for his second jab this morning, so I'll be free to get out (for very short walks) next week. Meanwhile, it's bargain hunt and antiques road trip. He's stopped crapping everywhere, every fifteen minutes, but is not sleeping so much. Could be worse, I suppose.

Exciting lives us retired folk live Steve, we've had a drive out to Burghley House in Stamford lovely grounds to walk around with the dog, back home now for Antiques road trip, looks like they're filming again in at Burghley a lot of The Crown filmed there over last couple of years.

I worked at Burghley Horse Trials about 20 years ago, nice place and lots of lovely fillies wandering about!
