air beds, the way of the future ?
« on: 11 September 2008, 08:11:02 »

after a few years of poor quality sleep my missus has decided to change over to one of these.
i recently told her to try an air bed (one we use for camping) and she has had a transformed sleep, so to have a more reliable bed she has bought one of the dream rest beds at £100.
as we live next door to each other (waiting for the council discount period to kick in ready for selling) i can still use my own bed so she has it all to herself !!! i certainly will be trying it out (for comfort purposes chaps !!!).
with people getting bigger i wonder whether it will be the way to go in the future?? :)

Looks good, I have just made my own bed, literally. We where so fed up with the cheap nasty quality of beds in shops, even expensive ones don't last.
I "aquired" some hardwood, cut it down to 4.5inch square and got some 1inch thick plywood for the top, and result is with a new pocket sprung mattress we sleep very soundly. the bed does not creak or sink in the middle.
By the way it is 2 singles joined together to make 1 double. it is also sooooo heavy.

we swapped my double softer mattress for her superking harder one but it made no difference, her hips still ached.  but now theres no problems,  her eyes lit up when she saw the air bed on a shopping channel we were guessing the price but both way over which made up her mind to get it. ;)
