Pen Drive will be locked in a safe with my Will and personal data on it, hard drive is overkill.

They are laptop drives in cases and are powered from the UDB socket as far as I know.

I have 2 or 3 upstiars, down side they are mechaical and cant deal with the odd knock that a Pen Drive can handle.

Considerably more reliable data storage than a flash drive though!

You can easily pick up an 80 or 100Gb 2½" drive on eBay, and the cases to fit them in are very cheap.  I've got a few of them.  One has my music collection on it - used to take it to work, attach it to my workstation and listen through headphones.  Saved carting CDs about.  Of course, it's not as portable as an MP3 player, but you can cram a lot of music onto a 100Gb drive. :)

Is the safe fire protected really well?  Maybe just DVD-R's if not a risk of high temps?
