Sadly the Tories just seem to look shambolic , like they fully expect to lose and just can't be ars*d with the election , so many MPs not standing isn't a good sign for them .

It gives the media something to chatter about for a week, which means he doesnt actually have to conduct a proper election campaign or talk about the real issues.
Even if he did get elected, it would never happen and he must know it, unless he has genuinely gone mad.

It really doesn't matter what's coming down the tracks, most 18 year old would rather learn to speak Russian than get out of bed.  ;D

Maybe but it would be a good way for youngsters to know the right end of a gun.  War is inevitable. Also a vote winner for scared p ensioners

Most youngsters in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and, most definitely, London know exactly how a gun works.

Ah yes, Sir Graham Brady chair of the 1922 Committee that got shot of Boris and manipulated Sunak into No 10. The Sir Graham Brady who is now standing down at the election, deserting the sinking ship that he helped blow a hole in. That Sir Graham Brady  . .

It's just another distraction from solutions to real problems, just like the asinine Rwanda deportations to stop illegal immigration. The howls of laughter mean the perpetrators can stand back and say 'we had a plan, but you vetoed it'.

I think it's likely that the Conservative party as a whole has no expectation of winning the election, so they're playing the same fantasy politics that the Lib-Dems have for years.
