Over the pond, Congressional Republicans have introduced the Dismantle DEI Act, a bill that aims to get rid of all the diversity, equity, inclusion roles within the Federal Government and ban federal contractors from requiring DEI statements and training sessions. Interesting.

I saw an estimate the other day that here in the UK about £500 million a year of taxpayers money is spent every year in the public sector on DEI jobs, training and programmes.    And God alone knows what is spent in the private sector, especially in the big Blue Chips. 

Not much chance of getting rid of it all with our apparent shainy new Labour Govt though, if anything it will get worse. 

Back in the States, I imagine there will be fierce resistance to this bill from the Democrats, but if the GOP do well in the election later in the year, all bets are off, especially if Trumpy returns.

Maybe the tide is starting to turn.

This means we could enjoy pride month every month of the year rather than just June.

Every other 'good cause' seems to get a single day set aside so why does pride get a whole month?

In what sane world do we have numerous flags flying in our capital city ( in a Nazi like style) for a whole month, based on sexuality?

Is there a 'straight pride'  month complete with with flags and bunting for those of us who don't take it up the arse, and don't  believe there are a hundred genders.

Thing is these days for committing a cardinal sin like disrespecting pride month, you would more than likely get given a cardboard box and told to clear your desk. 

So most just stick the little rainbow flag on the top of their monitor and quietly get on with life.

I have noted that my local Tesco's pride celebrations are much more muted this year than last, when the whole shop had rainbow bunting and messages about diversity & inclusion over the tannoy.  I wonder if it's because they reckon the football is a better money spinner or they had 'feedback' from customers.
