We'll see about that...
Not saying that the poll I posted is anywhere near accurate, just interesting that the parties have moved so much closer than when Biden was running.
Lots more swings to come yet.

Trumpy could well become a victim of his own hubris and might put off those undecided swing voters if he attacks Kumala with nasty personal attacks rather than going after her record in office.

Although nasty personal attacks seem to be a general feature of US politics....  ::)

Perhaps Kamala will fight the election as president.

Old Joe steps down then Kamala becomes the first woman POTUS, and perhaps more importantly to the democrats the 'first woman of colour' POTUS.

Otherwise she may lose to Trump and never tick those boxes. :)

Her biggest challenge is convincing voters that she's actually going to improve anything. They've had four years and not achieved anything positive.

In comparison, Trump did everything he said he would and promises to continue to do so.

She's going to be the nominee, too late for a contest and they need to show a united front. Wise enough for you?  ;D

I think this is bang on. My guess is that the Obamas are quiet because when Michelle does run, they won't want too many soundbites endorsing someone else which could be used against them in future. Particularly if Harris does miss out, but wants to try again in 2028.

Well he's making a Presidential address to the nation later today from the Oval Office, so you might be right.  :)

I just don't understand the logic of a wife following her husband as president, especially when they have no political experience.

When Harold Wilson resigned in 1976 he didn't tell Mary  to stop ironing and making jam in the kitchen because it was now her turn to be PM of the UK. :)

Maybe he should have. They ended up skint and unable to pay for his care.

I think he resigned when he became aware he was starting to lose the plot.

Later on he was unaware that he was once PM. :-\

Michelle is Obamas only way to get another two terms in control.

Well, his speech was a waste of words. Everything he said they had achieved was the total of what is actually the case. And much of the rest of it was mumbled incoherent gibberish.

It sounded like a half arsed resignation speech only he forgot to resign.
