He'd just spent years and millions of dollars clearing his name, so I think that the assassin theory is more likely.  :)

It is strange though....  :-\

There should have been at least one crew member on watch, who should have raised the alarm to batten down the hatches.  ???

Nothing ever happens at night , all pissed up, complacency.

Well, it looks like Mr Lynch is no longer missing.

Negligence is going to be the likeliest reason for the yacht being vulnerable enough to sink so quickly...

Lack of lookout in view of local and regional reports of storms coupled with failing to close the companionway hatch from the sunken well at the base of the mast and having the keel in the raised position would have all made the yacht significantly more vulnerable.

Be interesting to see what state it's in if they salvage it.

I suspect it won't be salvaged.  That said, it's not quite deep enough.

I'm struggling to get past the coincidence, though as I said earlier, HP, for all their ill gotten games, are unlikely to do such a thing.  Private major investors though....

HP would have struggled to find a printer that works to print out the instructions. ;D

Hand written notes are too easy to trace.

That's the risk of big business upset the wrong people & they can reach out  wherever you are.
Yep, this fella done us over, let's arrange for a typhoon to sink his yacht.

When I worked in HP for a while years ago, one of the bigwigs told us that yes they set their printer cartridges to fail after so many prints even when it still has plenty of ink, so I wouldn't put it past them to have a waterspout making machine  ;D

The woman who survived along with her one year old baby was sat out on deck at the time, which suggests whatever happened was very sudden and unexpected.

How many times can they use it though? 8)

Caught the tail end of the news tonight, I think all bodies have now been recovered.

Three things seem strange to me...

1) I would have thought that a modern yacht like that would have so much buoyancy built in that should the worst happen it would become a semi submersible, rather than drop to the sea bed.

2) The only way I can see a boat like that going down, is that all the hatches were wide open, and it was totally swamped, but see above.

3) Is it feasible that a sudden storm happened, but only affected this boat. Apparently all the other yachts moored in the vicinity were unaffected?

Yes  :)

Just another thing.... On Wednesday the BBC were reporting that divers were struggling to get inside the wreck and were considering cutting through a 3cm thick window, which suggests that all the hatches and doors were closed.

See point 2.  :-X

Unless the position of the yacht on the seabed rendered conventional access impossible. Equally, if the rigging is still attached it could easily be obstructing access. Demasted doesn't necessarily mean detached. ;)
