Our new boy has fitted in so well.
« on: 29 August 2024, 18:05:46 »

Collected our Boxer from the rescue kennels this morning, he is an absolute stunner & so good. We lost our boy Buddy 3 months ago and couldn't be without one it's been awful walking without one, so glad to be back in the routine.

Dogs are wonderful friends. I would love to have one, but couldnt look after it properly, due mainly to not being able to walk long distances most of the time.
Im happy with the little Tortoise though. I can keep up with that.  ;D

Good for you. We lost our dog in January to cancer. Still miss him like crazy. Can't have another one . We are decrepit now. Can't imagine what we would be like in ten years.

.
I'm hoping he'll keep us both fit we always walk for a couple of hours every day & I like to swim regularly , he's only 3 years old so hopefully he'll go on for at least another 7 or more years then I'll be well on my way towards 80 so maybe a smaller dog would be more suitable. You do miss them only dog lovers would understand.

If I thought I could get away with it, I would take our Tibetan Terrorist to work with me.

I lasted eight months after we lost Poppy. My life changed completely, I was trying to pretend that it was ok walking with my mates and their dogs, but it really wasn't. Weekends were spent walking around town, drinking overpriced coffee and buying stuff we didn't need. There was also the fact that I was 69, should I get an older rescue instead of a brand new westie?
I'm so glad we made the right decision. Kenny is great company and gets me out walking in all weathers, every day.

we lasted from last June to this April after we lost little Molly, I always said she would be a very hard act to follow. We both missed her.
We collected Buddy from the dogs home, he's a Collie/Lurcher cross & is now about 22 months old. He's brilliant .... other than when he was at the vets yesterday after eating a load of grapes! Cher-ching ... £182 please!!!!!!

Looks like butter wouldn't melt, but he's a little bastard  ;D
He's never white, more a browny grey, always trying to hang on to spaniels ears so they can't run away from him, farts like a grown man and stinks like three day old cabbage  ;D

This is the longest we have been without a dog almost three months & I hated every day being without one, our daily routine was shattered , we've always had insurance but very few claims I'm thinking of just putting the money by in a savings account instead.
