Ah, is that why I keep getting the repeated messages ‘Urgent, your electricity meter certification has expired. DO NOT ignore this message and book an appointment for a smart meter now’.
……….
I received a call from EON this morning regarding my out of date meter certification. I explained that they’d had two attempts at fitting a smart meter but both attempts had failed the ping test, so only worked in dumb mode. Both times they removed the new meter and refitted my old meter.
The lady was very understanding and agreed to remove me from the ‘smart’ notifications caller list, emails and text contact list, which she said lasts for 6 months. After the 6 months they have to do the same again.
We shall see how that goes
but should I be concerned about my out of date certification.
Most of us on here are out of date
When Labour bring in their Assisted Dying Act or probably more accurately Killing Old People Off Act, I wonder if they'll start tattooing an expiry date on new borns.

Think of the money they'd save in pensions, the NHS and care!

Sounds like something out of a sci fi novel, but imagine it's your 65th birthday, there's a knock on the door....
" Hello, Uncle STEMO? It's your expiry day and we're from the Department of Expirations. Would you come with us please, the Expiry Van is just over there. No.... We won't take long and it's nothing to worry about! "
