Trump has thrown Zelensky and Ukraine under the Russian bus today.
Blamed the whole problem on Zelensky.
Utterly deplorable.  >:(

The US will almost certainly pull any funding while Zelensky remains.

The US donated about 50%...... :-X

And will probably give him a blow job when they meet.

Trumps narrative is becoming more bizarre and concerning by the hour .
His accusations and portrayal of events is at odds with the world.
Frankly his negotiating tactics ,or lack of , are astounding for a man that believes he can sucessfully " do a deal " on his terms at each and every turn..
I just watched some footage of Republican Senators being quized on his performance and they were very uncomfortable and looked dazed .
Add his musings on Canada ,Panama, Greenland,Gaza and the Gulf and I begin to wonder what the voters of America have unleashed .
I'd struggle to think of one person who sees truth in what he claims , well apart from one close to this site ....., and therefore feel that there is a global discomfort as to where this will lead .
My thoughts are that if he capitulates and destroys the trust that Europe has in America and hands power and strength back to russia it will eventually lead to a European war that will have huge consequences for America whether it likes it or not .

Trump HAS to be beholding to putin for some reason , it's all I can think of .

I now do not normally comment on these threads, but your summary in regards to Trump, for me, is absolutely spot on! :y :y :y :y :y :y

Trump is a monster that has been unleashed on the World, and his own country the USA! >:( >:( >:( >:(

Negotiating ploy or good idea?

Donald Tusk suggests Europe uses the actual seized assets of the Russian Central Bank. 200 billion. Not at all sure how that sits with international law but it would buy a lot of weaponry. Save dipping into the pockets of us ordinary folks to fund the void left by a departing USA. So far the interest o ly has been fair game.

The only obstacle to peace in Ukraine is Russia.

They could end this stupid futile war instantly by calling a ceasefire and withdrawing their troops.

Instead, in recent weeks we have seen them increasing the number and intensity of their attacks, especially on civilian targets.

That's actually true of Zelenskyy in equal measure. And as it goes, targeting sites deep into Russia is an escalation of its own as it takes the whole muddy mess far beyond the border skirmish that it actually is.

It's the equivalent of England occupying Offas Dyke and Wales bombing Norwich 'in retaliation'.

Three years in and nobody has lost or gained anything noteworthy.

Is that how you really see it ?

Where do you propose Zelensky withdraw his troops too?  ???

Poland?  ::)

So if England invaded Wales and was bombing civilian targets using an airbase in Norwich, don't you think that the Welsh would be justified in bombing that airbase?  ::)

They could both just stop.

Both sides are as stubborn as each other and seem equally oblivious to the stalemate they are in.

What do you think would happen if Ukraine packs up and goes home, compared to what would happen if Russia packs up and goes home?  ???

What makes you so sure anything would happen?

Russia has a secure corridor to Crimea. What more do they actually need?
