Just been reading my way through all the latest tow car awards, the only one I thought I might like to change to is a Toyota Landcruiser but surprisingly only scored 2 out of a possible 5, Land Rover top throughout so I will stick with what I've got, collect the new caravan on the 22nd of April it's 300kgs lighter than our present one so maybe even my 20mpg towing may improve slightly, got several sites booked already starting from May hope it's going to be a good summer 🌞🌞🌞

I think what you've got is hard to beat if you can keep it running cheapy - older Range Rovers don't exactly have the best reputation, not entirely convinced it's deserved though, probably a lot of it is caused by people skimping on maintenance and not keeping on top of things.

Your RRS is a very capable machine, and in my eyes still an attractive and desirable car, offering a decent level of luxury at a very affordable price.  Plus it's current value does of course mean you probably have no qualms with taking it places that you wouldn't want to take something worth £70+k, and towing out those who get stuck in their pretend 4x4s.

Modern Land Cruisers are fugly things in my opinion.     The last decent looking Land Cruisers were from the 1990's.

I have to admit mine does seem an absolute bargain, paid £7000 for it in 2019 it came with two folders of history mostly independents apart from the first twelve months, I've been lucky enough to find a great LR independent in Peterborough who has it every August for its MOT  & service he told me to expect around £800 per year to keep it up to scratch , I reckon I've spent around £4500-,£5000 on it that's accounting for everything tyres battery and other jobs that have needed doing since I've owned it . People have asked me if I'd have another & I've always said no, but that's changed now they're such terrific vehicles looked after properly, I'd only have the V8 version though some nice looking ones around for very fair money. Like you say it's not worth a lot now but it looks great & does everything I want from it.

I have no  complaints about the towing ability of my 14 plate ML350. My caravan has a max weight of about 1850kg ( christ  knows what it does actually weight after SWMBO has packed it  )  It does low 20s while towing & I can get mid/high 30s if I'm sensible on a long motorway run. It's on air suspension so soaks up most of the pot holes. In 6 yrs of ownership the only thing that has failed is some box of electrickery to do with SOS calling ..... I didn't know it was fitted. It's just has yearly servicing

You're right but I like the chunky ugliness look, the newest one looks like a Tonka toy I watched the road test of it on YouTube with Vikki Henderson it fared well with her but at £75,000 is way out of my reach.
