Exhaust systems
« on: 28 March 2025, 15:07:23 »

Hi all,
Can you tell me which exhaust system will fit my 2003 saloon. I have been  looking but can’t seem to find a specific 2.6 system. Will .3.0 and 3.2 systems fit.
The last system I put on was from Poland and cost £96 delivered. That was about ten years ago. I cannot think of the name of the company.
Any information would be well received. 👍🏻

The name was probably ’Eternal’.

And just admit that you want the twin tailpipe one.  :y ;D  Yes, the 3.0/3.2 saloon zorst will fit if installing from cat back, but I believe that the tailpipes may be a bit shorter on one variant so you could add your own tips. Others will confirm though.  :y

Hi all.

Yes, the Facelift I understand has slightly deeper/longer bumpers and so yep could pop tips on as a 3.0 original or MFL exhaust if fitted to a 3.2 Facelift will come up a few inches short at the tail pipe end.

However, the twin pipes (for the 3.0/3.2 - Single pipe for the 2.5/2.6) are quite close together and I couldn't find any to fit when I looked for some as there is only a few mm gap between the two tailpipes making fitting 2 tips a challenge due to thickness of tail-tips.

I believe however that all the V6 variants fit, just make sure select Saloon as the Estate Rear sections are slightly different.

Hope get it sorted  :y

I understand PFL 2.5 / 3.0 models had shorter tailpipes than the FL models 2.5 / 2.6 / 3.0 / 3.2 models, due to the profile of the rear bumper.
Replacement GM FL exhausts have a welded steel tip with ends cut at 90° that rust (as opposed to the original tailpipes which had stainless tips angled at 45°) which make it harder to remove them and put replacement tips of your choice, but many aftermarket tailpipes don't have fancy tips so it is easy to fit a tip of your choice.

To the above...

Any 2.5/2.6/3.0/3.2 saloon cat back exhaust will fit any Omega saloon.

The differences between them being a single exit for the smaller variants and a twin tip for the larger ones. And the fact that face lift bumpers are deeper due to improved low speed crash protection.

Estate cat back systems have the same variations but the pipes are all different due to a different routing around the rear axle.

Irmscher back boxes all attach at the standard back box connection point regards of exit type.

Thankyou for the responses chaps. Yes Al, you are right…Eternal, was a supplier, along with Premier exhausts, and I think ETS. I distinctly remember that I ordered my exhaust on a Monday, tracked it through Poland, Germany, etc and was delivered by Tuffnalls, on the Friday morning.
As I said earlier it was £96 delivered, and has lasted ten years.
When you say about the tail pipes being shorter, I assume you mean the pipe that sticks out the  back. I want from cat back.
And, Al…I’ll have whatever tailpipe comes with the back box 😀👍🏻

To put it another way in layman’s terms, the aftermarket exhaust system is the same for both 2.5/3.0/2.6/3.2 saloons from cat back, it’s just that the Facelift body shape is a bit longer. So, on the 3.0 it will come flush’ish with the rear bumper but on your facelift 2.6 it will be slightly shorter than the rear bumper, hence the need to extend it with tailpipe trims. If you’re not bothered about it being slightly under the bumper then you won’t have to do anything …… apart from clean the odd bit of soot off your bumper occasionally.  ;D

The thing that you want to know is ‘will it fit’? …. To which the answer is yes.  :y

I have just found one on the bay, from Poland….£138. It says it’s for a 1994- 2001 3.0 Saloon.
Did they not make a 3.0 after 2001 ?.
So, this is the one to go for, then, although my old girl is a 2003.

Thanks chaps. I will admit, I thought if I can’t get an exhaust, it might be destined for scrap. You have cheered me up substantially  :y :y :y  :y

That will fit yours.  I wouldn't worry too much about the tail piece being a bit short for facelift saloons.

2.5/3.0l was available from 1994 to 2001, when it was replaced with the 2.6/3.2
