Adhesive
« on: 30 April 2025, 22:38:33 »

Looking at my new to me Mondeo grill earlier, I realised that the monkey that removed it from the donor car simply cut through the plastic tabs that secure the grill along the bottom.  :(  ::)

I'll try to secure it with some self tappers, but if that's not possible I thought I'd glue it in place.

Any recommendations for a suitable adhesive that will withstand heat, cold, wet and vibrations?  ???

When my ex wife ripped the undertray off her car, I remade some tabs by shaping some thin steel into the right shape, heating it with a blow torch then melting it into the plastic. I did similar with Penny washers to reinforce where bolt holes had been ripped open.

That lasted a year (which was longer than our marriage had in it  ;D) which with her driving made it a high quality repair.

Could be an alternative to glue.

Well done on getting it open btw   :y

Tigerseal, just msk round each side where you don't want it to ooze, and remove the masking tape while it's still wet. Will be nice and neat then.
