Hammerhead crane building
« on: 05 May 2025, 20:28:12 »

I am away on holiday.

New huge holiday blocks going up behind our block. They have been busy building hammerhead cranes all week. They have a mobile extending crane and a rigger( ?) assembling the pieces. Impressive stuff

I have watched these working whilst away on holiday, fascinating to watch, really makes me wonder though how some large ancient structures were constructed many years ago.

We have been transfixed all morning!

Two riggers today. They have got the short arm on and just lifting the long arm. It is quite windy……

Over fifty years ago, I built a hammerhead crane with my extended Meccano set from a photo.
